The Porsche Macan 2024 is one of the first models from Porsche to transition from internal combustion engines to fully electric motors, expected to be distributed in Vietnam later this year alongside the gasoline version.

At this year's Beijing Auto Show, Porsche showcased the 2024 Macan model. This completely new second-generation Macan is developed on the Premium Platform Electric (PPE), similar to the Audi Q6 e-Tron.

The dimensions of the Macan EV are 4,786 x 1,938 x 1,622 (mm). Compared to the internal combustion engine Macan, this electric version is longer by 58 mm, taller by 76.2 mm, and wider by up to 224 mm. The front of the car lacks a traditional grille and instead features a wide central air vent on the front bumper. The Macan EV is equipped with a two-tier headlight system with four LED daytime running lights positioned above.

Similar to the Cayenne Coupe, the Macan EV also has a coupe-style design, with a steeply sloping roofline towards the rear and large bulging wheel arches. At the rear, the car features a horizontal LED taillight cluster that stretches across the entire width of the tailgate.

In this upgraded version, the interior of the Macan EV follows the trend of multiple screens seen in models like the Cayenne and Panamera. There are three different screens on the dashboard, including a 12.6-inch digital instrument cluster, a 10.9-inch center touchscreen, and a 10.9-inch entertainment screen for the front passengers.

Compared to the previous generation, the rear passengers of the Macan EV have more legroom. All new Macan EV models have a 125-liter increase in trunk capacity compared to the internal combustion engine version.

After transitioning to the new generation, the Porsche Macan only uses electric motors like the Taycan. The Macan 4 variant uses an electric motor with 402 horsepower with Overboost, 650 Nm of torque, accelerating from 0-100 km/h in 5.2 seconds with Launch Control. The Macan Turbo variant uses a motor with 630 horsepower with Overboost, and 1,130 Nm of torque. The car can accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 3.3 seconds with Launch Control.

According to information from the global Porsche website, the Macan 4 can travel from 516-613 km on a single charge, while the Macan Turbo can travel from 518-591 km. Charging the car may be a barrier for many Vietnamese customers who want to own the new Macan because the number of fast charging stations is still limited.

Regarding pricing, the Macan 4 has a starting price of $78,800, excluding a $1,650 shipping fee, while the Macan Turbo has a starting price of $105,300, also excluding a shipping fee. Previously, many Porsche dealers in Vietnam have started to accept orders for the new generation Macan with an expected price of over 4 billion VND. However, this information has not been confirmed by Porsche Vietnam yet.
